West Bengal Higher Secondary Examination Preparation Tips

Board exams are the most important phase in a student’s life. It determines their future and dictates any opportunities that may present themselves. Hence, it is crucial for the students to prepare well and ensure that they secure good marks in their board exams. The following are a few tips every student should consider if they wish to clear their exams with good marks.

  • Make a Schedule: Students must allot specific time for their studies. This can be done through the use of a schedule. A schedule helps the student to form a habit; this brings about a sense of time and responsibility. Initially, it might be difficult to adhere to a schedule, but with persistence, it can be accomplished. Moreover, ensure that the study schedule is set during hours where there is no distraction or disturbance. Hence, early mornings or late nights would be an ideal time to start a study-schedule.
  • Practice: Nearly everyone preaches this specific tip, and with good reason too. A math problem can only be better understood once the student has practiced it well. A diagram in biology can be drawn with perfection only if the student has practiced it before. A poem from the English subject can be recalled only if the student has recited it before. Hence, practice is essential for securing good marks in the exam. So, please ensure that enough time is given for practicing and perfecting important concepts.
  • Making Notes: Making notes involves the student jotting down points in a classroom during a lecture. This activity is quite beneficial as it helps the student to recall information with ease. This is due to the fact that the student not only has to listen but also has to write down the same information. This coordination between the hand and the brain improves the overall learning experience. Furthermore, those notes that the student made will enable easy recall of concepts during exam preparations. Moreover, it acts as a great tool for memorization and a quick reference guide to brush up on topics. Hence, try to make notes.
  • Sleep: This might sound absurd but sleep is an important factor in the learning process. It helps the student to recall the information that was learned during the day. It reinforces learning and improves cognitive feedback. The lack of sleep can significantly impact the learning process. For instance, it can hinder their learning process, create factual distortions during memorization and hinder the student’s ability to focus. Hence, it is advisable to get a good sleep the night before a major exam.
