GITAM University Distance Education: All programs under the GITAM University of Distance Learning have been approved by the joint commission of University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Department of Education and Children (DEC) and recognized by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), New Delhi. GITAM University is an ‘A Grade’ accredited institution by the NAAC. UGC has given ’12-B status’ to the university. The university was termed as category ‘I’ deemed University by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.

Admission to GITAM University Distance and Open Degree Program happens in 2 cycles, One in January month is known as the Calendar cycle and the other cycle starts in June known as the academic cycle.

How to Apply for GITAM University Distance Education?

You can apply for GITAM University by both online and offline.

Offline Application

• The application form can be obtained by submitting Demand Draft (DD) for Rs. 200 in-person from the GITAM university office or any of the study centers.
• To send a request for an application form by post, send a Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.250. Demand draft (DD) should be drawn in favor of ‘CDL-GITAM University’ payable at Visakhapatnam.

Online Application

• To apply online you have to visit the university website and have to print the form PDF file from the official website. You have to fill the application form manually and submit it to the study center.

Additional Charges

• If a student has passed the qualifying exam from any other university then he or she has to pay Rs. 500/- for recognition fee.
• The examination fee has to be paid with tuition fees. The charges for BA / B. Com. / Diploma / PG Diploma are Rs. 550/-, for MCA / M. Com / M.Sc. / M.A. is Rs. 750/- and for MBA Rs. 1200/-.

Documents Required for GITAM University Distance Education

• You have to send self-attested photocopies of the documents below along with the application form of GITAM University
• Three passport-sized photographs, one affixed with the form, and others enclosed in the envelope(130x120mm scanned photograph in the case of online form).
• Photocopy of the Mark sheet of 10th / 12th or its equivalent examination.
  If you are applying for PG courses you have to submit the photocopy of Degree or provisional certificate of the qualifying examination for
• Demand Draft in favor of CDL-GITAM University, payable at Visakhapatnam with name and course have written at the back of the draft.

• B.A. in History, B.A. in Public Administration, B.A. in Sociology, B.A. in Politics, B.A. in Economics, and, B.A. in Psychology this course duration is 3years and fee for the course is Rs. 5,200 /-.
• The duration of the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) course is 3years and the fee for the course is Rs. 6,500 /-.
  GITAM University offers a Master’s in Science (M.Sc.) in biochemistry. Its duration is 2 years and the fee for the course is Rs. 30,000/-.
• GITAM University offers a Master’s in Arts in Economics and an English course for Rs. 5,400 /- and its duration is 2years.
• GITAM University offers a Master’s in Commerce (M. Com) course for Rs. 6,000 /-.

GITAM University Distance Eligibility Criteria

• Eligibility Criteria to apply for B.A. and B. Com. Course:
  • The candidate must have to pass the 10+2 or equivalent Exam by Andhra Pradesh Board or any other recognized Board of Education OR completed 18 years of age, as in July (for the candidates without formal education).
  • Candidates must have to pass the GAT examination conducted by GITAM University with a valid rank.
• Eligibility Criteria to apply for M.Sc. in Biotechnology Course
  • Candidates must have to pass B.Sc. or equivalent from a recognized university with any of the two subjects listed in the image.

• Eligibility Criteria to apply for M.A. Course:
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject, except BFA and BOL from a recognized university.
  • The candidate must have to pass the GAT examination conducted by GITAM University with a valid rank.
• Eligibility Criteria to apply for M. Com. Course:
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or a professional degree, such as CA/
  • ICWA/ ACS/ AMIE/ A.I.E.T.E., etc.
  • The candidate must have to pass the GAT examination conducted by GITAM University with a valid rank.
• Eligibility Criteria to apply for MCA Course:
  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, except BFA and BOL from a recognized university or a professional degree, such as B.Tech./ B.E./ B.Pharma. / Medicine/ Law/ C.A./ I.C.W.A./ A.C.S./ A.M.I.E./ A.I.E.T.E., etc.
  • Mathematics at 10+2 or equivalent exam.
  • The candidate must have to pass the GAT examination conducted by GITAM University with a valid rank.
• Eligibility Criteria to apply for M. Com. Course:
  • To apply for MBA course candidates must have any Bachelor’s degree, except BFA and BOL from a recognized university. A professional degree, such as, B. Tech./ B.E./ B. Pharm./ Medicine/ Law/ C.A./ I.C.W.A./ A.C.S./ A.M.I.E./ A.I.E.T.E., etc., are also eligible. Additionally, candidates have to appear successfully for the GAT examination conducted by GITAM University with a valid rank.
• Eligibility Criteria to apply for DESM/ PGDCSCourse:
  • Candidates must have to pass Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Eligibility Criteria to apply for DCE/ DCACourse:
  • Candidate must have to pass the 10+2 or equivalent by Andhra Pradesh Board or any other recognized Board of Education OR Pass in B.A./B. Com.And GAT entrance exam conducted by the GITAM University.
