YCMOU Exam Time Table 2020: Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) is one of the premier universities in the state of Maharashtra. YCMOU Exam Time Table – How To Download?

Please note, the YCMOU exam time table 2020 will be released at least a month or two before the commencement of the exam. The university will usually issue a notice or a circular on their official website stating the same. Students can then download the time table by following the steps stated below:

  • Click on your respective notification on YCMOU official website ycmou.digitaluniversity.ac time table 2020.
  • You will then be presented with a new page with the time table in PDF format
  • Right-click on the page and select the “Save as” option
  • Ensure that the “Save as type” is PDF before proceeding

Ireland’s membership of the EU has played an integral role in building Ireland’s reputation as a location for world-class research and as a centre of excellence in higher education. Ireland offers 5,000 internationally-recognised and quality-assured programmes.

Software engineering, mechanical engineering, biomedical sciences, data analytics, fintech, cyber security, and international finance and aviation are big draws. All of Ireland’s universities are ranked in the top 5 per cent globally, and in many fields of research, rank in the top one per cent, globally.

Post Brexit referendum in the UK, Ireland’s higher education institutions have witnessed a notable increase in enquiries and applications from international students, outside the European Union.

THE INDIAN CONTEXT

There are currently around 3,000 Indian students pursuing different courses with 90% of them post-graduates. The majority of students come from Delhi followed by Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai. Every year, Education in Ireland organises education fairs in India’s major cities where reputed higher education institutions from Ireland participate. So, we are hopeful that the next academic year (2018-2019) will see at least a further 25% increase.

FEE STRUCTURE AND SCHOLARSHIPS

Fee range are around 8,000 Euros upwards, depending on the course. Many of Ireland’s higher education institutions offer merit- based scholarships. More than 200 scholarships are offered by Ireland’s education institutions specifically for Indian students. These range from 10% to 50% fee waivers, and are merit-based. In terms of cost of living, it is estimated that a student will have to spend between 6,000 and 11,000 Euros per year depending on the location and lifestyle.

Indian students can work up to 20 hours a week during their course and 40 hours during vacation. Besides, there is a policy of encouraging Indian entrepreneurs to set up shop in Ireland.

STAY-BACK VISA

The key advantage of studying in Ireland is that students at post-graduate level can avail of a two-year ‘stay-back’ option after completing their course. At a time when other countries are tightening their visa rules for international students and graduates, Ireland has taken the opposite approach. Earlier this year, the Irish government announced an extension to its Third Level Graduate Scheme, for non-EU/EEA students at post graduate level. Highly skilled international graduates can make a significant contribution to Ireland’s talent pool and Ireland can provide international students with a highly desirable start for their own careers.

The stay-back option guarantees post graduate students the opportunity to remain in Ireland, after their studies, for a period of two years to seek employment in dynamic sectors such as ICT, biopharma, engineering, medical devices, food science and financial services. The possibility of gaining valuable post-study work experience makes Ireland a very compelling option for the Indian students. With over 1,000 multinationals based in Ireland, the country offers exciting career opportunities for talented graduates.

POST STUDY WORK OPPORTUNITIES

The primary focus of most students who go abroad to purse higher education is an employment offer post-graduation, in the foreign land, in order to gain exposure and experience. VISA UPDATE

Here’s a lowdown on how aspiring students from India can apply for a student visa to study in Ireland.

Is a student going to Ireland for higher studies, applicants need to apply for student visa. There are two categories of student visas that are applicable in Ireland. For study programmes with a duration of less than three months, one needs to apply for ‘C type study visa’ while for study programmes with a longer duration, the applicants need to file for ‘D type study visa’. Before applying for a student visa to Ireland, the students need to get a confirmed admission in the college they wish to study at. After getting accepted at the Irish university or institution of your choice, you will receive an acceptance letter from the institution, which is an extremely important document for the visa application.

The applicants looking to study in Ireland need to apply for visa online. Once you have the required documents ready, you can go ahead with your visa application. Once the visa application has been submitted online, you should print the summary of the visa application form. Gather your application form, sign it, collect other documents including original passport, passport-sized coloured photograph and all supporting documents and submit them at the embassy office of Ireland. The application for the visa would be processed when the online application, along with the relevant documents, is received by the relevant office.

In their visa applications, the students also need to specify that they have enough money to support themselves in terms of their tuition fees and also their living expenses during the course of their study. An applicant needs to show a fund of around 7,000 Euros in his/her account. This amount is about the same amount an international student would need to stay and study in Ireland. Besides, the applicants also need to prove that either the applicant or his parents or sponsor would be able to fund 7,000 Euros for each year of studies that one intends to pursue.

Having an in-depth knowledge in the subject, combined with the impeccable platform that EY had to offer, l knew that it was the company I wanted to be in after my graduation.

My daily work always includes creative thinking, whether that’s coding a new programme or finding a new analytical strategy for a scalable solution for a client project. I also work on the various new analytics driven technologies, which is exactly what I wanted to do.

Not only do I get the chance to work on new technologies in analytics, but I am always motivated to think outside the box and to be as creative as possible. I am a big follower of new technology trends and try to bring in any new technology or ideas in my analytics work. My contributions to the project (where I am building a product to transform Wealth Asset Management), hard work, and innate curiosity are what made me the ‘Face of Analytics’.

MSc in Biological & Biomolecular Science is designed to train students in the very latest aspects of the biomolecular sciences.

John Laxon, Regional Director – South, South East Asia & the Middle East, Education New Zealand, talks about the country’s highly-ranked education system.

New Zealand’s education system has gained the top global ranking for delivering a future-focused education in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s 2017 Worldwide Educating for the Future Index.

The Future Index measures how countries provide young people with the skills they need to flourish in the future. These include interdisciplinary, creative and analytical skills, and entrepreneurial and leadership skills.

Specifically, it highlights the importance of an inquiry-based approach to learning, industry collaboration and the need for technology-rich curricula. New Zealand performs well on all of these, in particular its curriculum framework, high quality teacher education and the country’s cultural diversity and tolerance.

They are among the reasons why 130,000 international students from more than 180 countries were attracted to study in New Zealand last year. Ankur Mishra, from Anand, Gujarat, is one such student. Ankur is an engineering PhD candidate at the University of Auckland. Fie is researching how rooftop solar energy technologies can help better manage the energy consumption of houses.

His research shows real potential for practical application, and has been supported financially by the university and the government. He notes that government and utility companies in New Zealand are funding projects at several universities in his area of interest. In New Zealand, more than $500 million or about 15 percent of university income is generated annually through commercialising university research, according to Universities New Zealand.

Opening up education for all

We are a diverse, welcoming country and are open to having international students on our campuses. At our university, we have students from over 80 countries across the world. Our largest, single source of international students is from Mainland China and our second largest sources are the American, study abroad students. The number of Indian students at universities here is considerably very small. We, hence, have the opportunity to grow that number and are open to inviting international students at our campuses, especially from India.

Immigration New Zealand recently stated that they approve over 95% applications for university canterbury, places that come from international students. We also have full employment economy that grows at 3.5% per annum. Hence, international students who not only wish to study, but also gain work experience in the country have a good chance to do so in New Zealand.

The NZ education community values people who bring in different perspectives. We have three tiers of education providers in the country – we have eight registered universities, the ITPs or the polytechnic institutes and the PTAs, the private training enterprises. A lot of the PTA damage was done by students coming in mainly for a job, and not education as the sole purpose.

We have stopped that and immigration New Zealand is changing those rules. However, none of that has affected students who wish to study at the eight registered universities in the country. The purpose of students going overseas must be to gain education that may lead to a job, and not simply seeking a low-pay job.

Our college of education, health and human development, which does initial teacher education for NZ is ranked in the top 100 in the world. So, at least in terms of global standards, we are well trained. However, yes, we can do better and develop our teacher training modules. NZ is an open society, similar to India where people feel empowered to raise their concerns about where we stand and the areas we need to improve in. We do have special education facilities in NZ and some of the special education providers are some of the best available globally. There are always a wide range of views on this report and we continuously try our best to better to serve these students.

Oman: The new study destination

While Oman is emerging as a new study destination, women in Oman are also coming out and enrolling in various study programmes.

Higher education in Oman takes place at one of the country’s universities. While the university “ system is relatively new, with the first university opening in the 1980s, it has proven to offer a solid educational experience for those who choose to study within the country.

Studying in Oman gives students a chance to experience life in a thriving Arab culture. Students enjoy more freedom of religion and commerce in Oman than they may experience in other Arabic countries, which adds to the appeal of studying in this country. Also, most degree programmes are taught in English, making it easier for many international students to attend school and understand what is being taught.

Because Oman is an Islamic state, the academic calendar follows the Islamic calendar, with time off for major Islamic holidays. Many schools break the year into three trimesters, with the first beginning in August or September and running until December or January, followed by a semester that starts in late February and runs through late April, and a short semester beginning in June and running through the month of July or August.

The cost for tuition in Oman is not set by the state, and as such will vary depending on the programme of study and the university chosen. As an example, the annual fee for a Bachelor’s degree at one of Oman’s colleges is 1800 OMR, in addition to a 100 OMR caution deposit. Cost of living is cheaper in Oman than in other Middle Eastern countries in most instances.

Because Oman has several universities, study opportunities for international students are quite varied. A strong focus on business, technology and engineering is found in many of the schools in Oman, undergraduate degree applicants must pass a Higher Secondary or Equivalent Examination before applying, and some schools have a maximum age for expatriates entering full-time programmes. Each programme will have its own unique requirements, including testing and minimum scores, for international students who are entering the programme.

OPENING UP NOW FOR WOMEN

A recent report by the World Bank stated that women outnumber men in universities, with an average of 108 women attending university for every 100 men across the Middle East. In Oman that figure is slightly countries higher, with 137 women pursuing tertiary education for every 100.

In a class that features 30 students, at least 80 per cent of them will be women, especially in fields such as biotechnology. The reason for this is that women here prefer to study first and get employment later, but most males prefer to finish their diplomas and undergraduate studies and get a job immediately.

If one has to look at the service industry, a lot of jobs are dominated by women. Walk into any bank, or any office that is run by Omantel or Ooredoo and it’s mostly women behind the desks, which is actually a good trend to see.

Many of the undergraduate programmes in Oman have enrollment numbers featuring more women than men. Some core occupations, such as civil engineering and manufacturing, will always be male-dominated, but women doing better in the classrooms, is translating into more women excelling at work as well. Women know that it is not very easy for them to get a job, and they realise that working hard in the classroom will give them a better chance outside. And that’s the reason, they are working really hard towards creating better future opportunities for themselves.
