National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS): National Apprenticeship Training Scheme grants an opportunity for candidates to get qualified in some of the best companies in the Central, State and Private Sectors. Students who have qualified graduation in engineering or diploma in engineering are eligible to apply for Apprenticeship Training. To apply for the NATS national apprenticeship training scheme candidates need to enroll themselves with the NATS web Portal (national apprenticeship training scheme portal).

National Apprentice Training Scheme (NATS) is governed by the Board of Apprenticeship Training/Practical Training, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Indian Government. It is a National Scheme for granting skill practice to newly qualified graduates and Diploma holders in Engineering and Technology.

Benefits of National Apprenticeship Training Scheme

There are in total 126 streams or courses for graduate/diploma candidates for which coaching is provided. The duration of training is for one year. 50% of the allowance granted during the nats training session, is refunded to the company by the Government of India.

Candidates can enroll for apprenticeship training in the NATS web gateway. Students are suggested to visit the Apprenticeship Fairs, held annually to get chosen for training. The choice of apprentices for apprenticeship practice is the employer’s advantage.

Eligibility Criteria for NATS

  • Candidate should be an Indian citizen
  • Candidate should be a permanent resident of the state, from where he/she has pursued or pursuing his/her graduation or diploma course.
  • Candidates who are pursuing or have completed their graduation or diploma course are eligible.
  • Candidates who are pursuing/have completed their Graduation in
    Engineering/Technology/Pharma/HMCT/
    Architecture/Lib Sci.
  • Candidates who are pursuing/have completed Diploma in Engineering.
    Candidates who do not have any backlogs
  • Mode of education of candidates could be regular, part-time and distance.
  • Candidates who have not undertaken any previous training as part of the apprenticeship programme
    (except as Sandwich student)
  • Candidates should not have any prior work experience.
